Clinical depression is depression that is not normal and that does not subside. For some this can be a complete lack of urge for food that is accompanied by a weight-loss, and for others an increase in appetite and a weight gain may be encountered. Individuals may feel a sense of hopelessness, they may feel guilt ridden, and often feelings of worthlessness are noted. Some people who are stressed out may feel like they are weak to do anything to change their life or make things better.

Intense depression can result in conditions of discomfort, pains, headaches, and sleeping disorders. These are usually psychosomatic by nature and a manifestation of the depression, but this condition may make physical pain more extreme. Those who are depressed often quit taking part in usual routines and weary in almost everything. Ideas of committing suicide are a big symptom that can be dangerous. Some folks who stay depressed will try to take their own life or succeed in committing suicide.
