How To Change Flat Tires At Washington DC

By Ora Scott

Getting stuck with flat tires Washington DC is a hassle. Especially if one is just going for a road trip or just traveling through, it will really cause one trouble if he does not know how to change them effectively. With a little bit of knowledge, one will be able to accomplish this task.

First step, usually, is to make sure that one is a level and solid surface. Make sure that the place is a flat surface and that it is stable and safe to change one's tire in. Turn on the emergency flashers if one is near the road and the situation might cause traffic.

Put the car in Park position. For standard transmissions, put the vehicle in a first or reverse position. Remember to place heavy objects like rock on the other wheels. Then, take out the spare and one's jack.

Place the jack directly underneath the frame of the automobile. Ensure the jack underneath comes in contact with the metal portion of the frame. Raise the jack, only with the purpose of supporting the car and not lifting it.

Remove the hub cap. Do not take the nuts off but instead loosen them by turning counterclockwise. After all, it is not necessary to remove them all as the purpose of the act is just to break the resistance.

Crank the jack again until it lifts the vehicle enough for one to remove and replace the flat tire. After that, one may now remove all the nuts by turning them counterclockwise. Remove the flat one and place it under the vehicle just for security in cases where the jack malfunctions.

Place the spare on the hub. Make sure that the rim of the spare is aligned with the bolts. Tighten the nuts. Lower the car slowly, tightening the nuts even more after every bit the car is lowered. Remove the jack once the car hits the solid surface. Wrap up tightening the nuts and replace the hubcap. Remember to take the old tire into shops for tires Washington DC. tires washington dc
