I Need Auto Body Training

By Tony Bandalos

Recently I planned that I wanted auto body training. This was because of 2 facts. The first being I wanted to fix the tiny scratches in which my car has gained. The 2nd is because I sensed it would be smart to know more about vehicles generally because I will likely be driving them throughout my entire life. I did some web browsing only to seek that most people found their training at professional trade schools or technical colleges. In addition, I observed that these schools cost just as much as moving to a real university. Luckily, I came upon the website learnautobnodyandpaint.com. There I ran across a fantastic DVD and eBook course that enabled me to turn into an auto body pro.

For example, the course taught me the exact same auto painting methods that one would learn at an automotive trade school. I was able to quickly learn the art of blending using the DVD course. This is essential since blending is among the most applied skills. Since many people use base coat/clear coat paint systems, blending has done away in the need for panel painting. This has made car painting easier for novices just like myself to execute. I was also shown how to adequately feather paint.

The course's auto body training also teaches you about the different types of paint that are available to purchase. There are urethane, acrylic lacquer, and acrylic enamel. If you are working on a new or late model car, then you will be using urethane. If you are restoring an old car or repairing a classic, then an acrylic is what you will need. Make sure to only use one type of paint on your project. For example, you do not want to start with an acrylic lacquer and halfway start using acrylic enamel. If you are unsure which type of paint to use, do not hesitate to ask an auto body store clerk as they will often know exactly what you need.

Furthermore, I was also able to submit questions to the author of the course. He was then able to reply answers in an e-mail or in his blog. I found this extremely helpful. With the purchase of the course I was given a lifetime membership to learnautobodyandpaint.com and access to updates. This was also useful as the automotive painting world is constantly being innovated upon.

Now that you know my story you may decide that you will need some auto body training. I would endorse at least thinking about learnautobodyandpaint.com even though you wouldn't like to purchase the DVD course. The site features plenty of information about painting cars and a free blog on the subject.
